Next week is Water Saftey Week at Newmarket Pool. All of our lessons will have an emphasis on water safety in different scenarios. It is an extremely important part of your child’s swimming development and is an Australia-wide campaign to try and lower the rate of childhood drownings in Australia.

• Could all children from tadpoles up to mini-squad please wear some clothing (t-shirt, shorts etc.). We want to demonstrate how hard it is to swim in wet clothing.
• We will have a lifeguard moving from lesson to lesson talking to them and demonstrating water safety.
• This is a very beneficial experience and in the past has helped children in dangerous situations.
